Norman H. Rappaport, M.D. is the Medical Director of the Houston Center for Plastic Surgery and Advanced Skin Care. He has over 20 years experience in providing cosmetic surgery to Houston patients. Graduating with honors from Temple University School of Dentistry, Dr. Rappaport's interest in surgery prompted him to pursue his medical degree. He graduated from Hahmemann Medical College in Philadephia, PA, with honors and in 1980 completed his formal training in plastic surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas.
Dr. Rappaport maintains his interest and involvement in academic medicine. He keeps abreast of the rapidly evolving field of plastic and reconstructive surgery through his participation in various professional organizations and as the Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Rappaport is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.
A member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the American Association for Hand Surgery, he is the immediate Past-President of the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons and the President-Elect of the Houston Surgical Society.
While Dr. Rappaport's board certifications attest to his knowledge, his surgical skill is the basis of his greatest recognition. Dr. Rappaport has an excellent reputation for achieving a very natural appearance for his patients. He has an obsessive attention to detail and strives to fully educate his patients regarding their treatment options. Dr. Rappaport believes that the more knowledgeable people become about plastic surgery, the more realistic their expectations will be.
Dr. Rappaport's broad based approach to cosmetic surgery has led him to establish the Houston Center for Plastic Surgery and Advanced Skin Care because of his beliefs that a good preoperative skin care regimen conditions the skin and allows for a better surgical result, and that adjunctive procedures enhance overall appearances with or without major surgical operations.
