Kenneth Owen Rothaus, M.D. earned his bachelor of science degree at Yale College, graduating Magna Cum Laude and with honores insignes in biologia. He then continued on to Harvard Medical School, where he graduated as well with honors. Dr. Rothaus completed both his surgical internship and residency at the prestigious Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He then went on to a plastic surgery residency at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. After completing a microsurgical fellowship at the University of Louisville, Dr. Rothaus returned to the attending staff and faculty of the New York Presbyterian Hospital Cornell Weill Center. Dr. Rothaus passed the rigorous examinations required to become board certified in plastic surgery in 1982.
Dr. Rothaus shares his extensive knowledge of plastic surgery in his capacity as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Cornell University Medical College. He is also an Assistant Attending Physician at The New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Weill Center and the Hospital for Special Surgery, a Visiting Associate Physician at The Rockefeller University Hospital, and an Attending Surgeon at the New York United Hospital. Dr. Rothaus's professional memberships include the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, the New York County and State Medical Societies, and the Harvard Medical Alumni Society of New York. As a member of these societies, Dr. Rothaus stays abreast of the latest cosmetic and reconstructive surgery techniques, enabling him to offer the best service to his patients.
Dr. Rothaus has also written and presented numerous papers and book chapters on a broad spectrum of the subjects in the fields of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery as well as aesthetic laser surgery.
